A tarsal level amputation is ideal for prosthetic application to assist with the rear leg function for the canines ambulatory movement. Like the anatomical shape of the carpal joint, the tarsal joints bulbous shape and distal long bones ends provide ideal elements for prosthetic use. Where possible, reconstructive orthopaedic surgery can assist canines with optimal conditions, for prosthetic applications. Lightweight prosthetic designs and materials enhance the user's activity and comfort levels. Customized aesthetics finish of the prosthetic leg are available, as well as standard body colors.

Prosthetic Features

Prosthetics are made using thermosetting laminate plastic and closed cell thermo foams, providing an intimate fitting for optimal weight bearing comfort and functional use. The prosthetic paws have a rocker bottom surface enabling a smoother gait minimizing the energy required when walking. The rubber grip on the paw allows for good traction on slippery surfaces and prolongs the use of the prosthetic paw material. Custom colours and cosmetic designs are available upon request.
