Partial Paw Prosthetics

Helpful for: Long-term ambulatory support

Congenital deformity or traumatic injury, affecting the entire or partial paw remaining can be addressed with a prosthetic for a sounder weight-bearing limb while preventing secondary related sores developing. Rear leg paw prosthetic is a good way of addressing any tissue break down that may be occurring from ground strike and paw push off during gait cycle. Amputated sites with a skin graft can be protected with a thick gel lining in the prosthetic to act as another layer of skin for protection and comfort.

Prosthetic Features

Prosthetics are made using thermosetting laminate plastic and closed cell thermo foams, providing an intimate fitting for optimal weight bearing comfort and functional use. The prosthetic paws have a rocker bottom surface enabling a smoother gait minimizing the energy required when walking. The rubber grip on the paw allows for good traction on slippery surfaces and prolongs the use of the prosthetic paw material. Custom colours and cosmetic designs are available upon request.
