Orthotic applications are custom fabricated out of thermoform plastic with thermo foam lining for a comfortable intimate fitting. Depending on orthotic application objective goal, different density thermoforming plastic are available, as well as open cell or closed cell thermo foams for comfort fitting or load bearing fitting.
Suspension of devices require K-9 Orthotics sternum harness systems to coincide with the strapping system on the orthotic device. Elastic integration of the strapping system allows for a comfortable fit while maintaining optimal suspension, so as not to impede on the breathing of the chest cavity or restrict body motion. The use of male and female clip systems make it easy and fast, to apply and to remove the suspension straps on devices.
A biomechanical approach is used when configuring the strapping system to suspend devices. Where necessary and possible, elastic assistance can be incorporated into orthotic applications for canines that have a debilitating gait.
Prosthetic applications are made out of thermosetting laminate plastics for a more intimate fitting of devices for the most optimal functional use of the prosthetic device. Closed cell thermo foams are used for weight bearing purposes and for better memory retention. The prosthetic paws will have a rocker bottom surface for a smoother gait to utilize as little as possible energy when walking. The rubber grip on the paw allows for good traction on slippery surfaces and prolong the use of the prosthetic paw material. Due to the nature of the application procedure of thermosetting plastics, custom colours and cosmetic designs are available upon request.
